Nadiya Mir who is well known social activist from Budgam district of UT of jammu and Kashmir as well as an engineering student.
I am the founder of “Not Afraid” organization which is based and working on child abuse.
I started my journey last year in a pandemic and at that time I was working for a production house for 4 months approximately.
They were doing events and all campaigns. But I was capable to do more things by myself because a person knows his/her abilities and worth too.
Then suddenly one day I heard the news about a girl child that was physically abused by someone in Kashmir she was only 3 years old. That was the turning point to start my journey.
I came up with a thought that let’s Be Not Afraid now (ab nahi toh kab nahi). Let me be the voice of the people and let me stand for this.
I go to school to school for the awareness campaigns not only in Budgam but as well as in other districts. I raise awareness by distributing booklets there too. And I got really great response from school and as well as the children.
In March, I got the training of self defence from Chandigarh and then I came back to Kashmir again for my awareness programs and as well as teaching the techniques too. I stand for this. I strongly stand against the abusing of child.
At early, I was doing events and all but after seeing so many things around my neighbourhood and my district, I quit and started doing something different.
And I strongly believe that,
“To terrify children with the image of hell, to consider women an inferior creation—is that good for the world?”
“One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them.”
“Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun; not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul.”
