Best Day Of Work Ever | Brett Connellan

How many ‘Best days of work ever” does one get to have in their life?

I’ve been on an absolute high since last Friday. On the face of it, 2 big presentations with a lot of expectations heaped on them may sound like an intimidating task but I think the stakes are what makes for the reward.

I was thinking of the best way to write about my experience and upon reflection, my Saturday morning gratitude probably says it best:

The best day of work in my life!

BresicWhitney was so cool and different. Friendly people, an amazing location and a great reception. Healthier Illawarra Men was a whirlwind. It was exciting to be the feature piece of the event. Getting a Father and Son to connect with the signed board is something I’ll remember forever. Getting compliments on my slides!!

As an external reader, you may be thinking that this summary may not exactly live up to the hype of the ‘Best Day Ever” and I know that claim is based purely on whatever emotions/connections/vibes I felt on the day but it’s the simplicity of that gratitude which makes it so exciting to me. This is totally replicable!

I started off by asking how often people get to experience these days and depending on your relationship with your work it’s my guess that the number would vary greatly. To me, this reinforces the appreciation I have for the position I am in to not only do work that I love but to make an impact on others which was evident from last Friday.

I’ve come a long way from those early days of presenting and although the scope and the landscape has changed, the ability to find gratitude in the simple things that you’ve always loved is what brings me confidence in the fact that this won’t be my last ‘best day of work ever’.
