Some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost | Shiva Prasad



Shiva Prasad, a 37-year-old from Bangalore, is a true inspiration to all who know him. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles in life, he has continued to push forward and achieve great success both in his career and in sports.


Shiva holds a PG degree in HRM from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and has over 10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, currently working with HashedIn by Deloitte as Senior Recruitment Specialist. But his true passion lies in wheelchair cricket, a sport that he has excelled in for many years.



As the Vice-captain of the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team and Captain of the Karnataka state team, Shiva has achieved great success on the cricket field. He has represented India in wheelchair cricket and played against Pakistan in 3-T20 matches held in Dubai, UAE, which India won 3-0. He has also played in a tri-series against Bangladesh and Nepal. And Represent India in Wheelchair Tennis for Four years and ranked top 2 in India in the year 2016 before retiring to pursue career in Cricket.



Not content with just playing the sport, Shiva has gone above and beyond to promote wheelchair cricket, tennis and basketball at the grassroots level across Karnataka. He founded the Divyaang Myithri Sports Academy, which has produced four international wheelchair cricket players from Karnataka, including Shiva himself, Sagar, Hareesh and Tippeswamy.


He has organized multiple events in wheelchair cricket and basketball, and even invented Wheelchair Kabbadi and is promoting Wheelchair Handball and organized more than 15+ events in large scale.


Shiva's dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. He was the winner of the Nipman Foundation Individual Entrepreneur Award sponsored by Microsoft in 2019 and was also part of the India Inclusion Fellowship Cohort in the same year.



Not content with resting on his laurels, Shiva is all set to build dedicated cricket nets exclusively for wheelchair cricketers in Karnataka. He has organized wheelchair cricket camps for South India, training around 70 wheelchair cricket players.


In addition to his achievements in wheelchair cricket, Shiva was also a former ranked number-2 wheelchair tennis player in India and partnered with legendary Leander Paes for a Demo Match. He also organized the Republic Cup, the first-ever wheelchair basketball tournament in Bangalore.


Shiva Prasad is a true inspiration to all. He has shown that with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, one can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness. Dream of building first ever multi-sport complex dedicated for people with disability and make India dominant nation in sports.
