'Mindfulness' at work is simple | Lovina Gidwani

In all my workshops, I talk about how mindfulness helps you at work. In order to ensure that we get the most out of our breaks at work- it is important that in that time we allow our mind to completely disengage from the task at hand; even if for only a few minutes.

Mindfulness can help you achieve that, Practising 'Mindfulness' is all about being completely in the present. It's important to keep the focus on the ‘now’ and not the 'past' or the ‘next’.

So in your break, try enjoying a few moments of mindfulness with your tea by bringing your complete awareness and attention to the moment.

Notice the lemons slices merrily dancing away in the cup, see how the fresh mint leaves are happily perched on one slice. Inhale deeply but sip slowly. The temperature. Is it hot, warm, or cool? How does it taste?

Is it earthy or floral? What memories does the sip evoke? Just a simple activity like this on a busy day can heighten your senses, enhance productivity and enrich your entire day. Try it today. Also, drop in your comments on how you felt after this 'Mindful Tea Break', I will be happy to hear about them.
