Making my way through sheer determination and sheer willpower | Sahil Sayyad

I am Sahil Sayyad, an Indian wheelchair cricketer and I am affected with Spinal Bifida by birth I have suffered from 23 surgeries my life was very struggling but I love cricket from bottom of my heart.

So I started playing as a teenager and also traveled all over India including Nepal for the Asia cup championship. I have played 48 domestic tournaments and 6 international tournaments.

Also, take participate in para powerlifting and rank 2nd position for a silver medal but in this journey, I don't have financial support from anyone except my parent no salary no government support.

Last year bcci make a committee for a differently abled cricket committee under its umbrella so I would like to thank for that bcci and journal secretary jay shah and also thankful for bcci president Saurabh Ganguly.

Pimpri, Representative: The International Wheelchair Cricket Series is a series of Twenty20 cricket matches between India and Bangladesh from March 28 to 31. This series is taking place in Mumbai and Goa, for this series, Sahil Syed from Dapodi, a young man with 90 percent disability, has been selected for the Indian wheelchair cricket team.

Overcoming ninety percent disability, this 22-year-old from Dapodi has excelled in athletics, powerlifting and cricket. Sahil has won the gold medal, silver medal, and man of the match in all these three sports. Currently, he is playing for Maharashtra Cricket Team. Sahil is making his way through sheer determination and sheer willpower.

Sahil's selection is welcome. Sahil has left for Mumbai for this series, which is being held in Mumbai and Goa, and he has two days of practice matches there.

Although Sahil is not like normal kids, he has likes and ambitions like these kids. He is fond of sports since childhood. Especially cricket. But father thought that how can he play cricket? But Sahil gathered his friends and started playing good cricket. So his father brought him all the resources required to play cricket. He started playing cricket well when he was about ten years old. After that, he tried to provide the necessary facilities.

Sahil's father Salim Dadabhai Syed was in the aggressive 11th Maratha Battalion in the Indian Army. He served Seva Bharat Mata for 20 years. Since he was working in the army, Sahil's mother Shabnam had full responsibility. He also tried to fulfill all his desires and aspirations of Sahil without hesitation. Grandfather Tayyab Jamadar also played a big role in this success.

With practice, Sahil became so adept at cricket that he showed his brilliance in district-level cricket. Noticing his skills, he was selected for the Maharashtra cricket team. He plays excellently in it. Sahil was awarded 'Man of the Match' in the match between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh in the Indian Wheelchair Cricket League tournament held in Meerut. Sahil was also selected for the team for the Bangladesh cricket tour.

However, due to personal reasons, he could not attend this tour. Sahil's horse race continues only with determination and perseverance. Sahil expressed his belief that we will perform well in the series that is now being held in Mumbai and Goa and bring Vijaysree.

Apart from cricket, Sahil is also fond of athletics (shot put), and powerlifting and has mastered these too. He has won the gold medal in athletics, and a silver medal in powerlifting. I could reach here today because of my mother.

I always have to go abroad for various competitions. Ram Jadhav, the city president and district president of the Chhawa Maratha organization, is responsible for this journey. Also, even in daily life, if there is any problem, Ram Jadhav comes running for help. The guidance of Surekha Suryavanshi, Satara President of Prahar Apang Andolan Sangathan is also proving valuable.

Last but not least I would like to thank the bespoke platform to connect with me and supporting me in my future.
