Poonam’s Profile:
I am suffering from rare brittle bone disease “OsteogenesisImperfecta by birth. In this disease, a person cannot walk and face multiple fractures. My height is only two feet and eight inches (2’8”). I am 100 % dependent on my wheelchair for my mobility. Irrespective of the problem I have attended School, College as a normal child and completed my whole education as a regular student. I am completely confined on the wheelchair and dependent on others to do daily chores.
My Professional Journey:
I worked as Dy. Manager HR for a Talent Acquisition Firm in Bhopal for 6 years (2008 -2013). Given my disability, I have seen lot of challenges in my life. Still deep inside I had a strong desire within to do something for society. So, I decided to utilize my uniqueness as my strength to help numerous other specially challenged individuals for enhancing their personalities. With this thought in my mind, I left my job and breathed life into Uddip Social Welfare Society. I created this society for Disable empowerment, Women empowerment and rural development.
Here are snapshot of assignments which I’m undertaking under Uddip’s banner:
1. skill development center for differently abled candidates under PMKVY (3 months project)for their skill development and placement. In 2019.
2. Currently hosting a Show ‘Super 10 with Poonam’. This is one of the first kind of show which is hosted by female anchored suffering from Osteogenesis Imperfecta differently-abled for creating awareness towards Inclusive Society in respect of disability.
Currently running campaign for inclusion for disables in our society
Under this campaign doing lot of activities or awareness programs to create awareness regarding disability awareness, disability equities, or accessibility for creating inclusion environment in respect of disability.
Currently Running online campaign GO4POSITIVY to fight against corona, this campaign was started by me to spread positivity in the current negative situation (Corona Time).

Listed are my Achievements so far:
I was selected in the list of 100 women achievers across the India by Ministry of Women and Child Development under the category of Disability and Disadvantage. On 22nd Jan 2016 received recognition from ex-president of India Shri. Pranab Mukerjee.
On 8th march 2018 Received Naari Shakti award, one of the prestigious awards for women and child development, Department of Madhya Pradesh Felicitated by chief minter of the state for excellent work done in the field of social work.
Selected in 1000 women of Asia Award 2021 by Womennovator.
2016 & 2017, Uddip organized Madhya Pradesh first Mini Marathon on the concept of Inclusion of Disability in Society.

I was invited to walk on the ramp as a showstopper in Gitanjali Fashion Week Indore for creating awareness for the Inclusion of Disability in Society.
I have also been invited multiple times for TED Talks.
Hurdles:
In 2018, I was in Coma for 2 months and was in ICU for 3 months (Due to Brain Hemorrhage). After recovering I have never let physical disability to stop me from achieving my dreams and stood strong like a Warrior. I started motivating our youth to achieve their dreams. My motto to motivate youth is “If I Can, you definitely Can”
About Uddip Social Welfare Society:
Uddip Social Welfare Society, a registered organization, is still in its nascent stage. But the vision and the canvass are clear and large. It allows me to utilise my potential for someone who has seen the worst in there life. My focus is first on the physically challenged individuals.
Uddip Social Welfare Society has started a Campaign CanDo for the empowerment of Disabled Individuals. Here is a segment of society where we conducted number of activities under the banner of Uddip Welfare Society: Disable empowerment, women empowerment and rural education.
I also take Motivational sessions on the theme of ‘IF I CAN, YOU CAN ALSO’....
The struggles that I have faced in my life have become my strength and have helped me to serve society. I wish to empower the weaker sections of society and also to change the social mindset towards the Specially Abled (Differently Abled).
