Dr. Sonam Kapse specialized in Molecular Diagnostics of Oral cancer from Tata Hospitals Mumbai and took an unconventional journey to work in Healthcare Innovation and Research. She was the first doctor to join IDC, Godrej and Boyce Pvt. Ltd. as a ‘Healthcare Innovation Specialist’.
She worked on prestigious projects related to Hospitals, Industries, Home appliances, and smart wear for Human-centric ideas and designs. Went on to become CEO-Healthcare of Indo-African & Indo-Arab Chambers of Commerce & Industries; and facilitated diversified projects on Women-Child welfare, Community Health, Sanitation, Nutrition, Education, and Medical tourism.
As a healthcare professional with a rich background in Human-centric designs and a resolve to upskill and empower people of all backgrounds, Dr Sonam Kapse founded Terrasinne Restaurant - one of the 1st restaurants in India run and managed by people with multiple disabilities. She has already trained Down syndrome, Hearing impaired, Visually impaired, Autistic, Locomotor disability and Learning disabilities.
And the plan is to encompass 21 disabilities and significant invisible disabilities in India. She has developed unique training programs on multiple disabilities based on scientific research and they can be seen working at par in her restaurant with no barriers of literacy, race or gender.
Both her companies Terrasinne- Socially Conscious Dining & India Millets Co are focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Terrasinne is self-funded and a sustainable social enterprise. We are a mainstream dignified platform, not just skilling but empowering vulnerable communities. We practice inclusion by involving Indian and American sign language, braille and other modes of accessible learning and sensitization for the abled population.
Since its inception, Terrasinne has won much love, appreciation and accolades for its ambience, nutritious and tasty food and above all for the commendable service provided by our Special staff.
Notable ones include a renowned award from International Hospitality Council London, in 2021 & 2022. We also received a ‘Positive Gems of India’ award 2022 at the Second National Summit, Delhi from the Former President of India & Chairman - NHRC.
