A Meditation Guide: Scripting my own meditations | Mahua Deb

A Yoga teacher, a Meditation Guide- scripting my own meditations, a Sound Healer, and a Pranic Healer. I have a published paper in the Andhra University Journal on the Yogic concept of Moderate diet (‘Mithahara’), an ongoing OTT yoga teaching mini-series, and authored some leading newspaper articles on Yoga. I also developed my “3-step better sleep therapy” for insomnia combining yogic practices, which have shown immense benefit in my clients suffering from sleeplessness.

However, my yoga journey started due to a personal crisis in the family, when I took a career break from my corporate job and enrolled for Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga, at Andhra University at the age of 41 and mother of 2! That was a turning point in my life. Initially, the course was my outlet from pressures in life.

Soon, I started enjoying the practice, yoga philosophy classes, and discussions started opening my mind, heightening my senses, and sharpening my awareness. I not only topped the college in that course in 2015, but I was also now a lifetime yoga student and started teaching soon after in my city studios. I also took up more courses to learn meditation, different styles of yoga, sound healing, and pranic healing.

Through my thousands of hours of self-practice, I have found immense physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits. I am leading a healthier, happier and more contented life now than ever before.

I have learned to connect my thoughts with my feelings and emotions and then apply them in my actions in such a way that there is complete harmony in my being, and I am waiting to share my secret with you!

Besides Yoga, I climb mountains. I’ve conquered a few peaks in the Himalayas and I would like to go to Everest Base Camp, Mansarovar Yatra soon. I also go backpacking to different places, stay in hostels, and mingle with locals- learning about cultures and cuisines.

I am very intimately connected to nature- watching sunrises, sunsets, moonrises, full moons, and stars-gazing, and I walk bare feet some part of my day every day. I love gardening and growing all kinds of flowering plants, and herbs on my small terrace!
