A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work | Chirag



Chirag started developing an interest in cricket when he was three years old. He was very active in cricket and used to bunk lectures to play cricket. Chirag was serving as a captain of his team when he was in sixth grade. Team selection was an important part of his captaincy, he was responsible to select the best players for his team with whom they can win the matches and not lose.



Chirag faced various difficulties in proving himself but the ones who believed in him supported him. He was once neglected in the society cricket association for his disability but then he proved himself by giving his best and was appreciated by all based on his performance. It was the first time when he appeared for any tournament cricket.


For the past three years, Essar Foundation has collaborated with Viklang Kalyan Trust to organize Freedom Cup, a cricket tournament for the differently abled. This has given a chance to talented athletes like Chirag to showcase their talent. He was one of the seven players to make it to the national level and made all proud.



Chirag was balancing his job as a hospital clerk on the night shift and captaining the Surat Cricket Team at the same time. “Chirag is such a dedicated person towards cricket, he completes his night shift and makes it to the cricket ground at 6 am daily”, Sameerbhai Chauhan – Team Coach.



Dedicated and energetic, Chirag travels 40km to reach cricket practice at 6 am. Because of his struggle, he is the captain of the Gujrat team today. And he is one of the best all-rounders in the team.



Before the incident, Chirag wanted to play Ranjhi Trophy and represent him on a national level. And, Chirag’s goal for the future is to represent India in International matches.
